This is primarily a place to talk about tattoos, share designs, show off pictures of things we have or want and also share our experiences of tattoos (good or bad). I will occasionally stray to other topics which might leave you thinking “Where in the name of all that is holy is he going with this?!” but I promise there will be a reason for it.

Removal and Pain

Thanks for coming back. The time has come to announce the winner of the prize draw. The winner was chosen randomly from those that subscribed, shared and posted comments/pictures. The winner was the anonymous post of The Bow in the Bad Tattoo Gallery, your prize is on its way, a t-shirt and £50 tattoo voucher for a shop of your choice. Don’t forget to subscribe and share for your chance to be entered into the next prize draw.

We’re almost done with the tattoos I’ve got. This is the last one and it won’t take long, this is the story of a tattoo I had. I was young, dumb and stupid…

My mum had always said not to get a tattoo on my hand(s). Buuuuuut I went and did it anyway. I’m not going to share the background this time but all you need to know is that it was not wise in my circumstances (I have nothing against people with tattoos on their hands).

The tattoo was of a “fish” and it had to go. I didn’t like it and it wasn’t appropriate for work. I lived with it for a couple of years but after I saw an offer online for laser removal, well I decided to get rid of it.

Tattoo Removal

Unfortunately the place I had my laser removal treatment left me with some terrible keloid scars due to the laser being set too high and the girl not allowing enough time between treatments. So I have the scar in the shape of the old tattoo but it is definitely better than what was there before.

Thankfully I managed to find another place which was able to complete the removal without any further damage to my hand.

For those that say laser treatment is painful… well they aren’t wrong but it’s not the worst pain I’ve ever experienced. I think it’s probably about as painful as it deserves to be if you’re having a tattoo removed… keeping in mind that the whole point of a tattoo is that it is permanent, so if you are having it removed you’ll need to suck it up. Who else has had a tattoo removed through laser treatment? Did you find it painful? Post your comments below and email your pictures to b00292028@gmail.com, the best one will be featured in the next post and will be entered into the next prize draw.

Whilst we are on the topic of pain. Obviously everybody has a different threshold for pain. I don’t think tattoos are overly painful personally. As previously mentioned, when having my ribs done it was relatively tender, and by the end of the 5 hours it was getting a bit sore. Where do you rank the pain of a tattoo? Where’s the most painful place you’ve had a tattoo?

Until next time. Tat’ll do.
